WWII Stories
Dec. 07, 2017
Author Charley Valera has always had a fascination with WWII and its effects on the soldiers and their families. Charley knew his father was a WWII veteran and, like most of us, he never asked what life was like during the war. Years after his father passed away, taking his stories with him, he was determined to document the lives of other veterans. |

Help us install horse fencing and build a small llama barn for Cultivate Care Farms, a non-profit that offers a farm-based therapy outpatient program in Bolton, MA. All volunteers are welcome to assist between 9 AM and 3 PM that day (you do not need to stay the entire time) and should RSVP with info@nashobarotary.org for more information. The fencing and barn are part of a Rotary grant that the Rotary Club of Nashoba Valley is sponsoring for Cultivate Care Farms. We need volunteers to install additional horse panels to enlarge the current fencing configuration and "babysit" tame therapy horses during that time. This work will take about one hour to complete. Building a small llama barn will take about 5-6 hours to complete, and ideally, you should know how to use a hammer. |

Eat Give Live (and Joint Meeting with Clinton Club)
Mar. 22, 2018
Thomas James (TJ) King, a sixth-grader at Park Street School was inspired to support the Greater Boston Food Bank through a class project where he wrote an essay on the food bank's impact on the community, where he stated, "just as there is a hero in every movie, there is a hero in the fight against hunger, and that hero is the Greater Boston Food Bank". He then created a Kid-Friendly YouTube Channel, Eat Give Live, to benefit the Greater Boston Food Bank. Where he gives his perspective on local and national restaurants (and some travel and adventure videos too). With each review, he makes a donation to the Greater Boston Food Bank and encourages viewers to consider doing the same. |
